Inspirational hats were introduced into our class today. With influence from Thomas Hirchhorn his use of just everyday objects and his way of turing his thoughts, dream and memories, brown paper, tape , string etc we were asked to create and make a hat that shows inside our minds, how they work and what was going on in there.
Let the experimenting begin.
My concept was to have my hat the shape of a light bulb, pieced together with thought of family, friends, uni, love, work and time floating around but linked . I like the whole simple yet effective technique.
The concept behind the light bulb was down to how cartoons get a light bulb on top of their heads when a idea comes up.
The ‘floating thoughts’ just signify how much rubbish is roaming about inside my big dome.
The linked aspect was that I am always thinking about a dozen things at once eve if they are not related.
I got alot of joy from doing this symple task due to the fact it made me really think about what is going on inside my noggin.
