Grayson Perry

The other person but one guy

So Grayson Perry is a funny one. He is one person but collaborates his work with his cross dressing self. (I know... mind boggling)
Apparently he is making a statement doing this, loves the attention it brings and also gets a 'buzz' of sexual feelings whilst cross dressing. Some say its a selling point for his work, he says he is implying his identity to his work and portraying a visual of little girl whilst being a male artist.

I find his work very thought provoking and riddled with depth. It makes me want to know more about Grayson Perry and his thoughts, feelings and background.

The collaborator part of this duo is Grayson Perry works while cross dressed. He uses pots and tappastrys for visualising his pieces of art. they are like a pilgrim and journey through his life.
With the pots, once he finishes one, he will brake it, the pieces and fragments of china like a puzzle. He gathers the wreckage of memories and thoughts together and  gold bond them back together. The cracks symbolising an alternative route through life.

His/her work is political, thought provoking and creative. people question, explore and challenge it. he want to be different and stand out from the crowd and to me this is the absolute foundations in becoming a creative artist.

Grayson Perry Grayson Perry arrives at the 2010 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition VIP private view on June 9, 2010 in London, England.
