Dangerous Dreams

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/dangerous-dreams/4od#3169859

This short documentary has opened my eyes to the dream world and also made me think much more about my own dreams.
I think its important to pay attention to them and enjoy them! It is a luxury to remember your dreams.

This is me! This is how I tick! This is what I need to tick!

My bed room is my home at the moment.
I live in a lovely flat down by the harbour with three other girls.
Sometimes our quaint flat can get slightly crowded so I take cover in my room.
I am a home girl. I strive on home comforts, whether its lots of pillows from home, candles, comfy's or pictures. I need them around me.

These are what keeps me going on blue days.

Box With In A Box Out Of A Box

(These are just beginning thoughts)

This is my mind map board that I created in my class last week.
I work much better wit h a visual in front of me. This here is just a whole load of my thoughts about the up and coming project.
They call it 'brain storming' and this truly is a great storm of thoughts.

Several questions were then put forward to me. This was a group effort and a great way of becoming aware of little thoughts that you have not yet thought of yet.

"Are you going to have someone act it out?"

First thought was 'yes', I would have loved to have used a dazed girl and filmed her walk about looking confused and sad. But then I wanted to become more original so have been rethinking this - Thinking out side the box.
now i am thinking about a photo collage.
"How are you doing it? Photo? Film? Drawing"

The way this project is going to be set out is; first a sketch-book with ideas, information and insperation.
After i am going to collate all gathered info and create in to a dream catcher.

"Think of box"

This project has to be shown in box form so what I'm thinking posting all of my project on my blog and that may count as a metaphorical blog. Or maybe i will present it in a gift box, symbolising a present. Catching the lost girls dreams and presenting them to her as a present = a box.

Beauty Of The Night Sky Continued Part 2

This is some photos of my sketch book that I have laced together while exploring The Beauty Of The Night Sky.

It consists of ideas and inspirational images.

Beauty Of The Night Sky Continued

Ruby the darling that she is has been working her little bottom off for our project. Our little creation looks like this...

There really is beauty in my night sky!!

Walking and Boxing

Walk A Walk That Does Not Have To Be A Walk Or Could Be A Walk.
Think Out Of The Box That Isnt Really A Box But Could Be A Box.
Combine The Box That Could Or Could Not Be A Box, With The Walk That Could Be A Walk Or Could Not Be A Box.

Understand?

Think beaches, think dusk, a wondering girl, looking up to the sky, out to sea. A feeling of loss but hope. A box is found and a change and shift is made.
The box holds a lot of the past and this lost girl is now ready to find her self.
Box symbolises memories, dreams and hopes.
The beach is the walk and this girl is in walking distance to find herself.

To Be Continued ....

Dream the Night Away

My dreams in words

Emotional   scared   memories   past objects   decision making   dilemma stricken   pain   love   loss   determination   fright   sadness   hatred   powerful   fear   belief   perfectness   hopefulness    tsunami   giants   grass   death   sex   universe   stars   boats    friends   family.

I feel that dreams are a powerful subconsciousness act that are unbelievably private. That is why here I am just giving you a small insight in to some of my thoughts and feelings when I dream in the lateness of the nights and early hours of the mornings.

Time To Look To The Stars

Ruby Coyne

Born: 1989
Studies @: Grays School of art
Who is she?: My partner for collaboration Beauty in the Night Sky!

Ruby is in third year fashion. for the last three weeks that her and I have been working together its been a mind opening time. She has a years more experience in me and I have learnt a great deal from working with her. her thought and my thoughts were on the same track from day one.

I was in charge of the planning of this project, a sketch book was produced.
Our idea was to create a collection of T-shirts and Dresses for men and women to wear based on the idea Beauty in the Night Sky.
Ruby took charge of the garment creation.
Photo shoot and promo video hopefully on the way.

Beauty Of The Night Sky

‘Beauty of the night sky’ was the envelope that was pulled out by my partner (ruby) and I.

Along with the title came some words to get out creative juices flowing:
Explore Dreams Magical Discovery Imagination Astrology Wonders Heavens Cosmic Solar Systems Commits Science Universe Nasa Northen Lights Milky Way Space Wilderness Adventure Excitement Nature Star Dust Discovery

These words sparked excitement in us both, it was a new adventure and one that looked we could delve quite far into.
We separated for a week after agreeing to do our own investigation with the information we has and then regroup and asses our outcome.

Both our ideas were similar. The thought of dreams, another world and wanting to explore that empty space up there were a recurring idea that we both had.

A feeling of lost and having no path to follow was an idea that struck a chord with us both.
I had been a naughty teenager and got myself into many levels of trouble over the years surly causing my parents many sleepless nights. The feeling of failure when I did not gain the right qualifications for university after school was another let down and was the result was me escaping to travel in Thailand for the summer.
There I did not sleep very well and used to sit up and look up to the night sky contemplating what to do when I returned home. One night I witnessed amazing show of falling stars and made a deal with myself that I as not going to be a falling star but one that stayed and sparkled

Cindy Sherman

Another Person Same Human Being.

Cindy Sherman was whom me and my collaborative partner decided to use as inspiration.
She is an artist who collaborates with her self, like a second persona. When I first saw her work, (she dresses as other people and takes on their persona for the camera) I thought she was fantasising about being someone else, kind of like Grayson Perry. But instead she just becomes a character, like a actress and performs for the camera.
She inspires us because she was a singular person taking on several persona. she was obsessed with every single character she became. She would step fully into the role, investigating the character for weeks and weeks on end.

The real Cindy Sherman who is rarely photographed.
